The Causeway at Nong Pla Lai, Pattaya
A stone causeway runs straight across the calm water toward the town on the far shore at Nong Pla Lai, east of Pattaya. I caught it on a still August evening.
The Story Behind
I found this causeway on an evening wander around Nong Pla Lai, the quieter side of Pattaya away from the beach. A low stone walkway runs straight out across the water toward the buildings on the far shore, and at that hour the whole surface had gone glassy and still.
It was early August, so the light was soft between monsoon clouds rather than a hard sunset. I shot it at 23mm to keep the causeway leading the eye from my feet all the way to the town, with plenty of that big Thai sky up top.
There was almost no one around — just the walkway, the water, and the hum of the town carrying across from the other side.
