Sunset Over the Valley, Kaptai Eco Valley
The sun drops through a hazy pink sky over farmland and a lone tree in the Kaptai valley, seen from Eco Valley resort in Naniarchar.
The Story Behind
The bus from Rangamati town dropped us at a dirt road junction, and from there it was a short ride up the hill to Kaptai Eco Valley. I had not even unpacked when I walked to the western edge of the resort grounds. The valley opened up below — flat farmland stretching out towards the hills, a few bamboo fences marking plot boundaries, and one tree standing alone in the middle of it all.
The sun was already low, sitting in a band of haze that turned everything pink. Not the dramatic kind of sunset with clouds and colour — more like the whole sky had been dipped in watercolour. I put the telephoto on and framed the tree against the sun. At 67mm the layers compressed nicely — the fields, the tree, the pale hills behind, all stacked together.
I stood there until the light faded. No one else was around. Just the sound of birds heading home and the evening settling in over the valley. It was the kind of moment that makes you forget you have been on a bus for hours.
